{"Python": "Love"}

Python’s simplicity and ease-of-use makes it one of the most sought-after programming languages in today's tech industry. But what exactly is there to love about Python?

It’s Easy

Python is one of the easiest programming languages to learn. Its syntax isn't hampered by curly braces and end statements. Displaying an output to the screen is as simple as print("Hello world!"). Python makes great use of white space and reads much like simple English, making it easily understandable by beginners and experienced coders alike.

It’s Versatile

Python is a very versatile programming language, with a plethora of uses in a variety of different fields. From web development to data science, machine learning, and more, Python’s real-world applications are limitless. It can be used to make anything from scripts to be run on your computer to large-scale recommender systems deployed on millions of machines.

It’s Respected

Python is well respected among some of the biggest tech giants in the industry. For example, Google has used Python from the start. The language's creator, Guido van Rossum, worked there for several years, overseeing the language’s development. Instagram likes Python for its simplicity, and Spotify puts the language to use in its data analysis and back-end services. Python lends itself to a lightning-fast development pipeline and has gained a place as one of the essential languages in use at these tech companies.

Now that you know all there is to love about Python, it's time to spread that love! How can you become more active in the Python community, and what can you do to introduce the language to others? We've got some ideas for you!

Get Involved

One of the best ways to show your appreciation for Python is to get involved in the Python community. Conferences always need volunteers to help organize and carry out the event. You can also contribute your knowledge by writing tutorials for sites like Real Python. Or you can find open source Python projects to contribute to on GitHub. The more people are using the language, the more developed it becomes, so get involved!

Express Yourself

A more personal way to show your love for Python is to express yourself! Be a walking advocate for the language by wearing T-shirts that declare your status as a Pythonista. (If you'd like a little more cover-up, you can still show your stuff with a cool Python hoodie.) Some developers like to sticker their laptops, so use that as a chance to show how much you love Python.

Be Social

Social media is a crucial part of community development in today's world. One way to show your love for Python is to be active on social media. Twitter is a huge platform for the tech industry, so follow important accounts like @RealPython and the Python Software Foundation. You can also use GitHub as a social media platform by commenting on code you see and submitting pull requests for bug fixes.

Share The Love!

The best way to show your love for Python is to share it with others! You can introduce others to the language by purchasing books that will introduce them to cool features, like Python Tricks. Or why not send them some Python swag? A coffee mug or a mousepad, perhaps? We've got everything you could need right here, so check it out!
